Service 03

Insurance Repair Scope Assistance

We provide independent, construction-focused review of insurance-related repair scopes, builder quotations, and repair methodology issues.

Our role is to help property owners understand whether a proposed repair scope appears complete, realistic, and capable of restoring the property to its pre-loss condition from a building and rectification perspective.

We assist with scope review, scope comparison, repair documentation, and site-based construction observations where required.

Important boundary: We provide construction and repair scope assistance only. We do not provide legal advice, financial product advice, claims handling services, settlement negotiation, policy coverage advice, or insurer representation.

Under-scoped repair schedules
Vague or incomplete builder quotations
Major pricing gaps between competing scopes or quotes
Disputed repair methodology
Patch-versus-replacement disputes
Older properties where matching, integration, or partial repair is problematic
Complex matters involving water ingress, storm damage, asbestos, demolition, structural issues, or multi-trade rectification
Situations where desktop review alone is not sufficient and site-based observations are needed
Owners, landlords, and selected strata clients

Service Packages

Select the package that best fits your situation. If you are unsure, contact us and we will point you in the right direction before you commit.

Included consultation calls are limited to 30 minutes. Additional time is charged at the standard hourly rate of $290 + GST.

Package 1

Desktop Scope Review

Best for clients who want an initial independent review of insurer or builder repair documents before deciding what to do next.

From $1,050

+ GST

View details ↓
  • Review of up to 2 documents (insurer scope, builder quote, schedule of repairs, or supporting report)
  • Review of client-supplied photos
  • Identification of obvious omissions, inconsistencies, and under-scoped items
  • High-level commentary on visible scope and methodology issues
  • Short written issues summary
  • One 30-minute consultation call

A concise written review identifying likely missing items, unclear allowances, major clarification points, and obvious scope weaknesses visible from the documents provided.

  • Up to 2 core documents
  • 1 property / 1 claim issue
  • 1 round of minor clarification questions
  • Additional document review or broader scope issues charged separately
Important limitation: This is a desktop-only package. It is not suitable where reliable comments depend on current site condition, concealed damage, demolition extent, sequencing, substrate condition, or physical inspection.

Package 2

Scope Comparison & Gap Analysis

Best for matters involving competing scopes, quotes, or reports where the client needs to understand what is driving the difference.

From $1,850

+ GST

View details ↓
  • Review of up to 4 documents
  • Side-by-side comparison of insurer scope, panel builder quote, independent builder quote, or related repair documents
  • Identification of missing items, vague wording, and inconsistent assumptions
  • Commentary on probable scope drivers behind pricing differences
  • Written gap analysis summary or comparison matrix
  • One 30-minute consultation call

A structured comparison showing what one party has included and another has omitted, where scope wording is too vague to support reliable pricing, where methodology appears materially different between documents, and where one quote appears artificially narrow or incomplete.

  • Up to 4 core documents
  • 1 consolidated written comparison
  • 1 round of minor follow-up clarification
  • Not suitable for heavily fragmented files unless separately quoted
Important limitation: Document-based unless a site inspection component is added.

Package 3

Site-Verified Scope Review

Best for matters where meaningful scope commentary requires site-based verification rather than desktop assumptions alone.

From $2,950

+ GST

View details ↓
  • Desktop review of relevant repair documents and photos
  • Briefing of an independent building inspector or suitable building consultant
  • Site inspection of accessible affected areas
  • Review of inspection findings
  • Written scope review informed by site-based observations
  • Commentary on visible omissions, practicality issues, and likely further scope requirements
  • One 30-minute consultation call

A stronger review package supported by site-based observations, designed to improve the quality of scope commentary where physical condition materially affects the analysis.

  • Standard metro inspection coordination
  • Review of up to 3 core documents
  • One inspection input
  • One integrated written review
Important limitation: Specialist reporting, regional travel, extensive document sets, and major revisions are additional.

Package 4

Independent Repair Scope Development

Best for clients who need a clearer, more structured repair scope for quoting purposes or to organise a technically complex matter.

From $2,650

+ GST

View details ↓
  • Review of available repair documents, reports, and photos
  • One 30-minute consultation call to understand the property issues and outstanding concerns
  • Preparation of a structured repair scope by area, trade, or work package
  • Identification of assumptions, exclusions, and unresolved items
  • Identification of likely further specialist inputs where relevant
  • One revision round

A builder-facing or owner-facing repair scope document intended to support more consistent quoting and clearer discussion of the building works. Can be paired with site inspection support where condition cannot be reliably scoped from documents alone.

  • One property
  • One consolidated repair scope
  • Moderate complexity only
Important limitation: Highly fragmented matters, multiple damage mechanisms, or numerous supporting reports may require a custom fee.

Package 5

Repair Scope Evidence Pack

Best for clients who want a more structured, better-organised construction document pack for their own use in repair discussions.

From $2,350

+ GST

View details ↓
  • Review of key repair documents, quotes, and photos
  • Written summary of principal scope issues
  • Structured scope gap schedule
  • Construction-focused clarification list
  • Comparison commentary where relevant
  • One 30-minute consultation call
  • One revision round

A client-facing pack that may include an issues summary, scope gap schedule, repair comparison notes, key construction clarification points, and organised observations for the client's own use.

  • Up to 4 key documents
  • 1 written pack
  • 1 revision round
Important limitation: This package does not include insurer representation, settlement negotiation, policy advice, or communications with insurers on the client's behalf. Where the matter is heavily contested or dependent on site condition, Package 3 or a custom engagement is more suitable.

Package 6

Complex Loss / Complex Rectification Advisory

Best for high-friction matters where repair scope issues are technically complex, heavily disputed, document-heavy, or dependent on multiple inputs.

From $4,250

+ GST

View details ↓
  • Broader review of the available file
  • Construction-focused advice on scope structure and likely work pathways
  • Identification of missing technical inputs and unresolved building issues
  • Review of sequencing, access, demolition, make-good, and coordination issues
  • Tailored written advisory note
  • Consultation time as agreed in the proposal

Suitable for matters involving asbestos-related rectification, moisture or water-damage disputes, demolition and make-good disputes, structural or movement-related repair issues, older properties with integration limitations, or files involving multiple quotes, reports, or expert inputs.

  • Custom scoped at engagement
  • Or from $4,250 + GST as a starting point
Important limitation: This package is intentionally priced higher because these matters tend to expand quickly and consume disproportionate review time. Custom quoted where scope warrants.
